The weard and freaky story of the Landlady

Roald Dahl has been the author of a really good story called The Landlady. The Landlady is a story were a guy called Billy goes to his first job in England and he decides to stay in a bed and breakfast. He wants to save money and the Landlady seems nice sow is the perfect place for staying and save money. At the first seems to be the perfect place because it have eggs for breakfast and he is the only person how is staying in the bed and breakfast apart for the Landlady when everything starts to seem weird is when the Landlady offers him a cup of tea and Billy see on the guest register some names that seemed familiar to him but he couldn’t remember where he hear them. Then the Landlady starts taking and makes the Landlady seemed more weird in every sentence she finish like when she said that she preserve their pets and when see said that Billy has the perfect age but the most weird of all is when see said that the people in the guest register are still there and we infer they are also perceive and that she is going to preserve Billy too.

 

 "He was wearing a new navy- blue overcoat, a new brown trilby hat, and a new brown suit, and he was feeling fine."(Dahl pg.1)

 

In this quote Roald Dahl is trying to say that Billy was a normal person trying to find a job. Billy was trying to look elegant for his first job and that he tried to be well prepared and organize. Also is trying to say that with all of this things he was feeling fine like if he like to look elegant and prepared for his new job. It seems that he feels satisfaction of bean with an office out feat. But the most important thing is that it makes the reader to imagine how Billy look like. By saying all of there the author uses characterization of look for the reader to know more about of the character.

"But Billy knew that she was looking at him. Her body was half turned toward him, and he could feel her eyes resting on his face, watching him over the rim of her teacup"(Dahl pg.6)

This quote makes the reader infer that there is something on the tea or that the Landlady was concern that Billy drank the tea. As a reader using this quote we can feel the pressure that Billy felt on this moment. Is almost like in these moment you feel so connect to the story that you are able to scream, don't do it Billy!!!!

New things in Jonas world

These chapters what has happened is that all began with an unexpected vacation day sow Jonas went to see Asher and he founded out that Asher was playing a game of war and he thinks that, that is really disrespect full because he had seen real war sow Jonas thanked that these game was not any fun. Then Jonas has a meeting with his family for diner sow father told that there will be twins of one breath mother sow the rules are that there cannot be twins in these society sow the baby that weights lower will get relisted and his father will take care of these situation. Sow then in the day of the released Jonas felt really curios of what was like these ceremony and that made the Giver talk about Rosemary and at the end Jonas discovers that released means death and that Rosemary is the daughter of the Giver that was relist.

In these few chapters when they are talking about Rosemary in page 142 made me think of a TH sticky note of pain and pleasure because for me is not sow important to have one of those like only pain or only pleasure when the giver in these same page only gives Rosemary memories of pleasure I think that having only pleasure memories like Rosemary is bad because painful memories give us wisdom for us to learn of or mistakes as memories of pleasure give us happiness.

For finishing these blog post I just wanted to say that I think that in the next chapters Jonas will try to stat a rebellion with the giver against the elders and his father will not follow Jonas because he will became someone really important in the other side of the rebellion. The family of Jonas will start to separate and Asher will go to the other side of Jonas and Fiona will go with Jonas.

A new adventure for Jonas

In these few chapters Jonas can do more particular things that know he can see colors, take more things in count, he can see beyond and now he can feel pain and pleasure. Jonas trays to share some memories with Lilli and Asher because he wants them to know how he is feeling. Then Jonas starts bing able to share memories with other people but only certain people I think that they are special people that can receive memories because the only one how can receive the memories of Jonas is baby Gabe sow I think that Jonas and baby Gabe are connected some how. The Giver starts sheering some memories with Jonas like the one of war (pain) and the one of the family (pleasure) with the memory of the family Jonas starts knowing love and that pills avoid that you have love.

 

111pg. Giver said.” It made since to them, too, but it was a new idea, and they came to me for wisdom”

“And they use you’re memories”?

Giver said “yes”

Importance of memories: These part made me think about importance of memories and I think that memories are important because they give wisdom they give wisdom because if you remember the story of Jonas and his finger that he smashed his finger in the door and now Jonas learned and he is more careful now about doors and he gained wisdom that doors can heart you. Sow memories are important because they give lessons of life that give more knowledge and that hive wisdom.

I will like to finish my blog by making a prediction of what will happen next sow in these chapters are like the introduction for Jonas to his new job and the learning he have made with the Giver also the courses and effects of these but I think that in the next chapters Jonas will fall in love with Fiona because he stop taking the pills and that make that the strings came back.

reading in previous chapters

In these previous chapters it haves happen that our hero Jonas is now a receiver of memories and for every job in these community you have rules or new things that you can do. In Jonas most important rules for his new job are that he can lie and he can ask personal questions to other people and they have to answer it also he will not be able to shear his dreams in the morning. In the first day of Jonas new job   he when to the house of the old with Fiona and in there he starts questioning how do his new job be like and question if other people also have the rule were they can lie sow now he is not secure to trust people. Finally he went to there training and he meet the Giver and the Giver shear a memories of snow with Jonas and they start sheering there memories with the Giver. I think that start becoming really good friends and now Jonas discover that he can see colors.  

Connection text to self: pg.80: " Now he became aware of an entirely new sensation: pinpricks? No because they were soft and without pain.

I will like to say that in this part of the book I will want to be Jonas because imagine to be in an illusion made by a person were you don't feel any pain. I will like to see how it is that sensation because it seams to be really placentae and it will be really cool to shear a memory with somebody because you are more connected to these person and I think it will be the best way to start knowing somebody.  

In the final thoughts I will like to say that Jonas will became a really good Giver but I think that in forward chapters with happen a lot of action and Jonas will start having problems for baby Gabe. If I was Jonas I will start to make more precautions because I wont be shore if people are lying to me because Jonas can lie because of a rule sow we don't know if more people are able to do the same thing.
