Summery and Text Responses of previous chapters

In these part of the book is that at first Jonas is conducted because of the strings he is having with Fiona and also he is nervous about the ceremony of twelve. For the strings the government have make a pill that makes you dont have feelings for another person and dont led the citizen’s fall in love with anyone they want. In the ceremony of twelve all the fiends of Jonas have a new job but for some reason they skip Jonas and pass to the other person. Jonas starts feeling bad because he thinks that he did something wrong or break a rule but at the end they ask Jonas to pass to the front to give him his job and then the elders make Jonas a reviser because they need a new giver and a reviser is the person that learns from the giver and eventually at some point he is going to became the giver. In conclusion what happen in these chapters was that there are appearing more signs of the control that have the government threw his citizens and now there is a new part of the book were Jonas will learn from the giver.

34 pg. "Usually, at the morning ritual when the family members told their dreams, Jonas didn't contribute so much. He really dreamed."
Connection text to self: If I was Jonas I won't share my dreams because I think that the dreams are something personal. In these case even more because Jonas had dreams with Fiona and I think that, that type of dreams you have to keep them for yourself unless you want to share them. In these society they are not leading his citizens decide for themselves they have to share any dream the have they don't have secrets. These can be good because the citizens have all the confidence to share the things they think but there can be things that are personal and the government is frosting them to tell all they think. Analyzing all of these I think that if I was Jonas I will go against the rules I will don't care about the rules because they cannot make me share something you don't what for me is really bad to force people to do things they don't what.

In these chapters there have been many parts that can make you think Jonas have a meaningful life. Concluding all I am saying I think that Jonas have a life where he cannot decide what he wants to do or not like the part of the dream or where the government choose his job. In all of these chapters I ca
n talk about why or why not Jonas will be or not a reviver but I will say that yes I think that is good that Jonas is a reviver because he will learn many things of the giver. I also think that is bad that Jonas is a reviver because he will not be able to see his family or be near the society and he will not be able to have a family unit. I think that what will happen next is that Jonas will not became the giver because he will escape to see Fiona and his family and also Asher.

  1. Nico, your summary is very well structured and it show us what have happened in the book. I want to clarify you something, and that is that Jonas assignment is to be the receiver of memories and not the reviver as you stated before and this is confusing remember you are posting this to people that don’t read the book and if they would see reviver it would be quite confusing. What I want to discus with you is in your second paragraph, in some point of view I think the same when the dreams need to be keep by yourself especially when you’re dreaming about this things of Fiona and his love with her. The thing I’m challenging you is when you say that if you were Jonas you will break the rules, I’m asking you like Jonas would you like to be released for not following this rules? Or like Jonas want to have a meaningful life and successful life too so by breaking the rules he is not doing what he want and his parents would be disappointed and no one want this. I´ll leave you with these questions to think of and be sure to revise spellings errors.

I will think to say that for me having a meaningful life is to be happy and I have always defend what I believe and for me if I will have to be realistic for defending what I believe is like been realist as a hero and I won't really care of what my family has tos ay because they are not really my familly. I will revise my spelling

  3. Nico I think your summary is very clear and I enjoyed reading it. I agree with you when you say that dreams are something personal and shouldn't be told to everyone. I think the main reason they all tell their dreams is to engage better with their family and the community and also to have more confidence with each other. And I also think Jonas life would now turn meaningful after being selected as the receiver of memories.
